“Being the “best you can be” is really only possible when you are deeply connected to another. Splendid isolation is for planets, not people.” ~ Sue Johnson
Welcome! I’m glad you found your way here.
People seek therapy for many different reasons and everyone has different goals in mind. Some come to me for help when they find themselves feeling sad, or lonely, or when they find themselves feeling stressed and worried. Some because they need a safe place to work through thoughts and feelings that seem to keep them from living the life they hope for. Others for help in building more satisfying relationships. Regardless of the reason you may be seeking therapy, together we will endeavor to create a safe place in which you may discover more about yourself, build the confidence and skills necessary for growth, and find the connection and meaning you long for.
Prior to beginning private practice, I spent eight years working first as a staff member and then as a director for a nonprofit organization in Africa. My time spent living and working overseas has given me a unique perspective on the multiple ways we seek connection and fulfillment.
In addition to providing psychotherapy based on an integration of psychodynamic, systemic and attachment theories, I also bring to the therapeutic relationship specialized understandings of Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Theory (EMDR) and Clinical Hypnosis.
I strive to provide a safe, secure and confidential environment. As a result I do not connect with clients (present or former) via social media. Outside of the provisions of my Privacy Practices notice I do not acknowledge inquiries about current or former clients.
